Tim Corey
Pastor

Rev. Tim Corey along with his wife of 20 years, Raquel, and three daughters Nevaeh, Sophie, and Myka, has served Sweetwater since 2015.

As a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University with nearly 25 years of service in church ministry, Tim has served as a youth pastor, worship pastor, and now, senior pastor. Over that time, he has had the privilege to lead worship and speak for several large ministry events including a one-day Promise Keepers event with Dr. Tony Evans and Camp Cedarcrest youth and children's camp in Santa Fe, Missouri.

During the first 15 years of his ministry, Tim was part of a team of people that planted a church at which he built a youth ministry that quickly grew from a handful students to over 30. Today, many of those students are currently either serving in full-time ministry or are committed volunteers at their current churches. While there, he also led and built the worship program up from just himself and two other musicians up to a rotation of 15 musicians praising God and leading people in worship on a weekly basis.

In the spring of 2014, God called Tim and his family to a time of rest from ministry to allow them to be replenished and to reconnect with each other. After roughly 9 months, God called them to the next chapter in their journey; a journey that would see them moving to North Carolina to help plant yet another church where he would work closely with the Pastor to help develop a clear vision for the church, lead worship, and when teach needed.

Tim believes that the church is made up of the people and not the building. Because of that, he believes that it is the responsibility of the people to build relationships with others so that they can more effectively reach the world with the gospel. Throughout his time in ministry, he has developed a passion for teaching people how to live the life that Jesus calls us to live that starts with loving God and loving people.

His teaching style is a style that is both conversational and informational. His messages dive into not just the text but also its cultural roots to better convey the message of Jesus in a way that is both relevant and impactful.

In his downtime, you can find Tim spending time with his family at the beach, eating homemade pizza, playing piano or guitar, learning about the newest developments in church media and technology, or looking for somewhere new to explore.
